Prompting the Future: Creative Thinking with Artificial Intelligence

Join artist Ben Tupas to explore the potential of artificial intelligence in thinking creatively and imagining the possible futures for Toowoomba’s artistic community.
Participants will look at the deep learning text-to-image modeller Stable Diffusion and AI chatbot Chat GPT. Part conceptual, future-focused roundtable and part artist taster session, the workshop will prompt practical and philosophical conversation about how we might approach the future of making and thinking.
Participants are required to bring their own laptop.
Ben Tupas is an artist and educator based on Giabal, Jarowair and Western Wakka Wakka land (Toowoomba, Queensland). His current arts practice works with video and sound. As an experienced workshop facilitator, Ben has delivered workshops for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Woodford Folk Festival, Flying Arts Alliance, and Youth Connect.
These workshops have been made available to the community with the assistance of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) which is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Toowoomba Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
