From Ableism to Allyship - Bendigo & Surrounds Inclusive Community Forum

People with disability in Bendigo and surrounding districts continue to experience ableism, often showing up as barriers to safety, access and inclusion in everyday life.

The Bendigo Inclusive Community Forum brings together people with disability, community leaders and service providers to have open, constructive conversations about these issues and what needs to change.

The forum is being delivered by Rights Information and Advocacy Centre (RIAC), Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV), and local self-advocacy groups.

A working group of people with disability is guiding the event to ensure lived experience is at the centre of the discussion.

The day will include a keynote speaker, a plenary session and interactive workshops exploring practical issues such as transport, service accessibility, informed consent, deaf awareness, AACU users and community safety.

This is a chance to listen, learn and be part of shaping more inclusive communities.

The headline event is the keynote and panel discussion (10:30am-12:30pm), followed by lunch.
