Make Freedom Ring presents a fundraising concert for Oxfam on March 18th at 19:30 in Kühlhaus Berlin.

The proceeds of the concert will support Oxfam’s humanitarian interventions in Gaza and the West Bank to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable in the region and provide life saving assistance.

"Make Freedom Ring" is organizing an international classical concert series that draws attention to the current humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and collects donations for various aid organizations.

Background

On March 8 in London and March 10 in Berlin, the group Make Freedom Ring organized parallel concerts to fundraise for institutions providing humanitarian aid in Gaza, as well as to generate conversation and support. Since then, several more concerts across Berlin, Manchester, Munich, Hamburg, Barcelona and Lisbon have raised approximately 45.000€ for various charities and foundations, such as Medical Aid for Palestinian, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Medico International.

These concerts were organized as a response to the classical music industry’s relative silence regarding the ongoing human casualties and loss of life in Gaza, in the hopes of not only showing support for the people of Palestine and those that are suffering, but of starting a conversation within the sector about this world event. Make Freedom Ring has mobilized musicians and artists to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians through music with the help of media coverage and the public. Please spread the word.
