Bereaved Parents Community Gathering with Holistic Therapy Sessions
Description
About The Event:
Meet fellow bereaved parents for an evening of connection, community and music. This relaxed event is open to all bereaved parents, whether your loss was recent or many years ago. It’s an opportunity to meet others, chat, connect and explore how music can support wellbeing.
Drop in from 17.00 at our Family Room at our Craiglockhart Centre to spend some time with our lovely support staff and wider bereaved community, in a friendly and understanding space.
Music Therapy will take place in the Yoga Suit, below the Family Room, from 19.00-20.00. This is a light, welcoming introduction to music therapy, giving you the chance to try some simple, fun, and therapeutic activities alongside other bereaved parents who understand.
No musical experience or previous experience of music therapy is needed - just come along as you are. There’s no pressure to perform or participate in anything you’re not comfortable with.
A limited number of Massage Therapy Sessions are also available from 17.00-20.00.
These are by booking only. Due to the limited capacity we kindly ask if you discover that you can no longer make the event, please contact us so that we can offer this session to another bereaved parent.
Please note, there are some instances where certain therapies may be advised against or not suitable for your body. We kindly ask, if you have any new or existing health conditions or injuries, or if you are pregnant or TCC, that you flag this with the massage therapist before your session. Valeska is experienced in treating both pregnant mums and those TTC, but we do need to know as some treatments (e.g. full back massage) won’t be advisable over a certain gestation, we can help advise which treatments are best suited to you.
Light refreshments, tea, coffee and juice will be freely available. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks or food along with you too.
Come for just a natter, or come for it all - we'd love to see you there.
This free event has been made possible thanks to our brilliant BLAW sponsor, Arnold Clark. If you would like to make a donation, all funds will support the delivery of events like these in the future and delivery of our crucial bereavement support services, Hospital to Home, peer-support & counselling.
Please also note, this is an adult only event
