Better Building: How Do We Design and Build Healthy, Thriving Communities?
Event description
An evening event looking at systems within our built environment. We will consider how we power our communities, the way we move, create connectivity, and better understand the concept of what a home is in Aotearoa.
Our expert presenters will discuss what future connectivity will look like and the paths we can take to get there, regionally and nationally. How we power up and move around has a huge impact on our ability to decarbonise our economy, communities and achieve our climate goals. It requires innovation, investment and a mindset shift.
We will also discuss how buildings as physical structures connect people and places, with consideration of the social, economic, environmental, material and cultural importance of what that space represents. Alongside how we design buildings to showcase the unique cultural landscape of Aotearoa the relationship between its people and the land within an ever changing climate.
