Betty Blue Eyes | Thursday 14 March
Event description
Perth College invites you to our 2024 Senior School musical, Betty Blue Eyes.
A company of over one hundred student actors, musicians, and crew will bring this epic musical to life at the Judith Cottier Theatre from Wednesday 13 March to Saturday 16 March 2024.
Betty Blue Eyes is a 2011 stage musical comedy based on the 1984 film A Private Function, and features music by George Stiles, with lyrics by Anthony Drewe. The book was written for the stage by Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman, adapted from Alan Bennett's original screenplay.
Twenty-six years ago, Alan Bennett and Malcolm Mowbray wove this story into a hilariously funny but sharply observed comic film called A Private Function, which centered around Betty, an adorable pig, who is being illegally reared to ensure the local dignitaries can celebrate the Royal Wedding with a lavish banquet.
