BETWEEN MY FACE AND YOURS – After Hours Night
Event description
Join us for BETWEEN MY FACE AND YOURS – After Hours Night, a one-night activation as part of the duo exhibition by Shanghai-based artists Shawn Zhang and EtonMars.
Between My Face and Yours is a duo exhibition travelling all the way from Shanghai to Gadigal Land – a deeply personal, quietly radical collection of photographic works exploring queer intimacy, gender expression, and the human body experience.
Through photography and visual storytelling, artists Shawn Zhang and EtonMars invite us to witness moments of everyday queer life across China, and to reflect on shifting landscapes of identity, perception, and becoming. These works speak across language, culture and distance — and for one week only, they’re here in Sydney.
This exhibition is more than an art show. It’s an act of cultural connection – bringing together artists and audiences from vastly different contexts to share in the power of self-expression. It’s about visibility, vulnerability, and building bridges between communities. We believe in making space for stories that often go unseen – and we’d love for you to be part of that.
An After Hours activation night will be held on Friday 29th Aug, from 7–9pm at Stirrup Gallery, Marrickville. Join us for a celebratory evening of performances and shared activities in the gallery space. Expect warmth, conversation, and community.
After Hours Night: 7–9 PM, Friday 29 August
Exhibition dates: 26–31 August, 10 AM–4 PM daily
Location: StirrUp Gallery, Addison Road Community Centre
