The WA Justice Associations invites you to join us at our upcoming event “Beyond Bars: A panel event on alternatives to youth incarceration” for an evening of discussions and debates on the future of youth incarceration in WA.
Our panel features:
- Dr Hayley Passmore - criminology researcher, and criminology lecturer at UWA
- Dr Lukas Carey - Education and Advocacy Manager at Reboot Australia
- Sophie Stewart - CEO of Social Reinvestment WA
- Gerry Georgatos - social justice and human rights campaigner
- Michael Ogilvie - Board Member of the Justice Reinvestment Network of Australia and Engagement Lead at Social Reinvestment WA
Our panel, together with the audience, will explore the reasoning behind youth incarceration in Australia, what impacts these processes are having on young people, and possible solutions in combatting these systematic issues in the WA criminal justice system.
This engaging event will provide attendees with new perspectives and knowledge on the incarceration of young people in Australia.
