Beyond Compliance: Making Due Process Meaningful
Description
This isn’t your standard checkbox training. This training dives past policy language and into what due process is actually meant to do: protect people, preserve dignity, and support real-life outcomes. You’ll break down Missouri-specific HCBS expectations, explore real-world scenarios (the kind that don’t fit neatly in a template), and learn how to build rights limitations that are clear, and most importantly, person-centered.
Expect practical strategies for developing components of due process where plans don’t just sit on paper but actually lead somewhere. By the end, due process won’t feel like a hurdle to clear, it’ll feel like a tool you can use with purpose.
Recommended but not required prerequisite: It is recommended that participants have attended either the in person or virtual “Restrictive Interventions and Due Process Review Committees What are Limited Practices and Prohibited Practices?” Workshop prior to attending this training.
