Homelessness Week NSW Launch Event
Join Homelessness NSW at Parliament House for the official NSW launch of National Homelessness Week 2026.
As homelessness continues to rise and services face growing demand, this special event will bring together sector leaders, policymakers, advocates and community members for an important conversation about the future of our homelessness response system.
Our multi-disciplinary panel will explore what it would take to move beyond crisis management and create a system that prevents homelessness before it occurs.
We'll discuss what can be achieved through stronger collaboration between services, greater investment in evidence-based solutions, and a shared commitment to addressing the structural causes of homelessness.
This year's discussion, Reimagining Our Crisis System, will examine:
What a truly preventative homelessness response could look like
How services could better support people with adequate resources and investment
The connections needed between housing, health, justice and community services
Opportunities to create a more effective, coordinated and person-centred system
The panel will be followed by networking drinks, offering an opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the sector, meet policymakers and partners, and mark the beginning of National Homelessness Week together.

Lineup
Annabelle Daniel
Annabelle Daniel OAM is the inaugural CEO of Women’s Community Shelters, leading the expansion of crisis accommodation, transitional housing and homelessness prevention programs for women and children across NSW and Victoria. Annabelle is the long-serving Chair of Domestic Violence NSW and brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the For Purpose and Government sectors.
Erin Longbottom
Erin Longbottom is the National Director of Homelessness at St Vincent’s Health Australia. A nurse, leader and advocate for health and homelessness, she has more than a decade of experience leading homeless health services and advancing policy, partnerships and system reform to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.
Laurie Leigh
Laurie joined Bridge Housing as CEO in August 2024. She is a well-established CEO and NED with a varied experience across aged care, disability, health and mental health, property development and education. Laurie has successfully led for- purpose organisations with revenues up to $300m, property assets of $1.6b, and a workforce of over 3,500 staff.
Marisa Moliterno
Marisa Moliterno is the manager of Community Restorative Centre's Advocacy, Research and Policy Unit. Marisa has over 20 years of experience across the community sector and has a particular focus on the social determinants of criminalisation, of which unstable housing is a significant factor.
