Web3 Tech for Community Building

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join us for an interactive session with Sid Sthalekar (of Neighbourhoods) and Lucas Tauil (of Holochain). They will showcase how groups of people can utilize Neighbourhoods and Holochain infrastructure for building communities.

Use cases vary from playful, virtual social applications, to resource-sharing and commercial bazaar-like activities in offline communities.

Neighbourhoods is a Web3/DWeb project headquartered in NZ, who's core offering is the open-source 'Social Sensemaker'. It enables people to convert (inter)personal data on ledgers into rich, localised sense-making output.

The Neighbourhoods marketplace helps communities share the development costs of generic tools that they can plug into their neighbourhoods, and pair with their bespoke social processes.

Neighbourhoods is built on Holochain, a new breed of Distributed Ledger Technology that is faster, cheaper, and more flexible than blockchains. Holochain supports distributed, humane versions of the social apps we need for collaboration at scale - not just token issuance. For those operating DAO's (Decentralised Autonomous Organisations), think of these technologies as enabling more fluid, broad-spectrum coordination.

Admission is free, but RSVPs help us plan better!
