Our group will be guided by a diverse range of Maori/indigenous representation to discuss the Tikanga Māori developed by tangata whenua and other Pasifica/global south/ indigenous world views incorporating practices and values around culture, gender, custom and ethics for people and planet.  This collaborative effort seeks to incorporate indigenous perspectives and values into the concept of degrowth, emphasizing the importance of cultural diversity in shaping sustainable strategies.

Positive taxation conversations - a conversation with Gareth Hughes (WEALL NZ) & Denise Paterson (Grant Thornton - Tax Specialist)

The final significant focus of this event will be on reengaging and reimagining taxation as a means to foster equity and positive societal impacts. Our panel will identify approaches that can benefit all members of society and contribute to the overall well-being of both the economy and the environment. By understanding services, budgets and costs, constructive conversations can be had around promoting fairness and inclusivity.  This event aims to generate ideas that can reshape the narrative around taxation and its potential for positive change.
