Join us for the opening of the Beyond Identity Falling in Shepparton Exhibition opening night!

We'd like to extend a warm invitation to to join us for this special exhibition opening event, presented as part of Shepparton Festival 2024.


About

Beyond Identity Falling In Shepparton

This exhibition is the culmination of two weeks of creative Community Workshops, facilitated by local artists and with participants from the region's diverse multicultural community. Through these workshops, participants have gone on a journey to explore their identities and shared their stories through art. The works they have created are on display in this exhibition, which will be open to the public for four weeks at the beautiful community gallery, The G.R.A.I.N Store, Nathalia.

Why

At the opening event you will have the opportunity to hear from the Curators, meet the artists and creative facilitators, learn more about the creation of the artwork and the stories behind the scenes and celebrate 'beyond identities. 

This is a relaxed, welcoming and inclusive event and all are welcome!

Opening Event Timeline

  • 12:00pm: Doors open and drinks and nibbles provided - you are welcome to wander around the gallery and enjoy the artworks
  • 12:15 pm: Short introduction from the Project curators
  • 12:20 pm: Hear from some of the artists and facilitators about their experiences of the project
  • 1:00 pm: Mingle and enjoy the artworks (and nibbles!)
  • 1:30 pm: Event close

Accessibility

Transport: If you would like to attend but are not able to drive to the event, please get in touch with us (details below) to discuss transport and/or car pooling options. We'd love to make sure everoyne who would like to come can be there! 

Physical Access: The G.R.A.I.N Store is wheelchair accessible via a ramp over one step to front entrance, or flat floor access through side entranceWe will also ensure some seating is available during the event. 

Quiet space: The exhibition space is fairly small and may be noisy at times during the opening event. However, there is a lovely outside area at the back of the venue, and we will designate a quiet space with seating for down-time and reflection in this area.
