Beyond Net Zero Network meeting Term 4 2024
Event description
Looking for some inspiration to improve the sustainability of your school canteen? Come along for a tour of the solutions at Melbourne Uni - implemented through contract clauses and negotiations with a range of suppliers, as well as practical ways of managing waste and involving student volunteers. Hear about how they did it, what they learned and continue to learn about successfully reducing packaging and litter, separating and recycling waste, and encouraging use of Fair Trade certified food and beverages.
We'll also have Andrew Vance from Melbourne Girls College speak about the successful relationship with their canteen provider, and what they've implemented in a school setting.
We'll also have a set of ReturnR reusable food packaging available to view. This packaging is used in corporate cafes to significantly reduce single use packaging. Something that could save schools money in purchasing single use packaging and reduce costs for disposing of waste and recycling.
Registrations close October 14th
