Let's talk Palestine: Christchurch Ministry Leaders Workshop

Tēnā koe!

You are invited to join other ministry leaders in Christchurch at All Souls Anglican Church, Merivale on Tuesday 13th October for morning tea and a workshop unpacking practical tips and experience for those wanting to host a conversation with their church about Palestine-Israel.

Beyond Pilgrimage is a multi-part video resource designed to help facilitate learning and constructive discussion within faith communities. Centring human stories, on-the-ground footage, Palestinian Christian voices, and faith-provoking questions to unpack in small groups afterwards.

Many people feel moved to respond to the violence in Palestine-Israel today but are unsure where to start. If this resonates with you, and you’d like to gain some practical tips on hosting these conversations, from people experienced in holding that space - this is the workshop for you.

We will watch some of the resource (or watch Part One in advance here - 55min) and discuss together what aids fruitful conversation and how to handle harmful narratives or disrespectful contributions. We will make space for grappling with big and difficult questions, how to manage these, respond, or de-escalate where necessary; welcoming people back to the heart of Christ’s call to peace-making, seeking justice, and loving our neighbours and enemies.

If you’d like to attend this free workshop, please register and invite any other friends or ministry colleagues who might also be interested! Morning tea provided.
