Beyond Self: An Archetypal Latihan Journey

Who might you become if, for one evening, you didn't have to be you?

Most of us move through life inside a familiar range of ourselves, comfortable (enough) with how we behave, how we relate, what we express, and what we hold back.

But beneath that familiar personality lives something larger ... and perhaps richer and less known. Perhaps waiting to be discovered.

Beyond Self is a blindfolded, consent-forward journey into archetypal embodiment. It's an invitation to temporarily set aside your everyday identity and discover what else might be waiting to emerge.

Inspired by Latihan, archetypal embodiment, dark and light masculine and feminine polarity, music, and guided journey, Beyond Self invites you out of thinking about who you are and into the direct experience of becoming.

We recently unveiled Beyond Self at YouTopia in Brooklyn to a fantastic response. Now we're bringing it home to Philadelphia.

➤ The Journey

We begin by setting aside some of the identities we ordinarily carry and entering a space of curiosity and possibility.

Through guided embodiment, blindfolded movement, and encounters with others, you may explore energies that are powerful or vulnerable, masculine or feminine, light or dark, tender or wild.

But you won't be asked to choose an archetype and perform it.

Instead: You'll be guided and invited to let the body reveal it.

As the evening progresses, the guidance gradually falls away and the room becomes an open field. We enter a place to discover what wants to emerge and what happens when it encounters the energies moving through others.

➤ A Different Kind of Freedom

The heart of Beyond Self is permission.

Permission to be powerful without apologizing.
Tender without protecting yourself.
Wild without explaining yourself.
Receptive without disappearing.

To discover qualities that may not ordinarily have much room in your life.

Sometimes we learn something about who we are, not by analyzing ourselves, but by temporarily allowing ourselves to become something else.

➤ Consent & the Container

Beyond Self is facilitated and consent-forward, with clear boundaries and multiple ways to stop or leave an interaction.

Participants remain clothed throughout, sexual touch and designated intimate areas are off-limits, and movement is intentional and slowed for blindfolded exploration.

You're never required to engage with another person, embody a particular energy, or remain in an interaction. You're always at choice.

Your yes matters. Your no matters. Changing your mind is welcomed.
