Beyond the Bell BRICK BUILD DAY OUT Holiday Camp 1st October 2026

A screen-free day of building, problem-solving, harbour adventure and outdoor play — created for kids who love to build, imagine and make, but also want to get out and explore.

This STEM-inspired day combines hands-on brick building with teamwork, creativity, spatial thinking and open-ended problem-solving. Kids will travel across Sydney Harbour by ferry, settle into a scenic outdoor location and spend the day building, swapping ideas, completing challenges and creating alongside new friends.

Each child receives their own bespoke brick storage box, filled with a mix of building bricks to use throughout the day and take home afterwards.

Along the way, there will be a brick-themed scavenger hunt, a picnic lunch, outdoor games and plenty of free-build time. It is the perfect mix for children who love construction and creativity, but do not want to spend the whole day indoors.

Families can meet the Beyond The Bell team at Balmain Scout Hall, or choose a staff-supervised pick-up from selected wharves across Sydney, including Neutral Bay, Rose Bay and Greenwich.

Please check carefully when booking to make sure you select the correct pick-up location.

What the day looks like

8:00–9:00am | Arrival & Welcome
Check-in at Balmain Scout Hall or meet the team at your selected wharf pick-up point.

9:00–10:00am | Ferry Adventure
We travel across Sydney Harbour by ferry to our scenic destination for the day.

10:00–10:30am | Arrival & Set-Up
Picnic rugs down, groups settled and each child receives their brick-building box.

10:30am–12:00pm | Build, Create & Swap
Kids can work on their own creations, take on optional STEM-inspired building challenges and swap ideas or selected pieces with friends.

12:00–1:00pm | Picnic Lunch
Time to refuel, relax and enjoy the outdoor setting.
Please bring a packed lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea.

1:00–2:00pm | Brick-Building Scavenger Hunt
A themed outdoor hunt with clues, challenges, teamwork and problem-solving along the way.

2:00–2:45pm | Free Build & Outdoor Play
More time to build, finish creations, join in games or create something completely new.

2:45–3:15pm | Pack-Up & Ferry Back
Boxes packed, belongings gathered and back onto the ferry.

3:30–4:30pm | Pick-Up
Collection from Balmain Scout Hall or your selected return wharf.

What to bring

Please pack morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, a refillable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and an Opal card.

Please make sure all belongings are clearly labelled.

Important information

This is an outdoor and public-transport-based program. The exact destination and schedule may change depending on weather, ferry services and group needs. All activities are supervised by the Beyond The Bell team.
