Join Rachel Pilois, passionate Austen lover (owner of over 30 copies of Pride and Prejudice) and Children's Book Buyer at Unity Books, for an exploration of diversity in contemporary Austen retellings. As a mixed-race, queer, and neurodiverse bookseller, Rachel brings a unique perspective to the rich tapestry of Austen-inspired literature.

In this talk, Rachel will showcase a curated selection of titles—including some available through Unity Books—that reimagine Austen's beloved stories through diverse lenses. Discover queer retellings, tales set in other cultures, modern adaptations, and even potentially Regency-era stories that amplify marginalized voices.

Attendees will gain a deeper appreciation for the breadth of the current Austen book market and its resonance with the modern world. Prepare to expand your reading list and discover exciting new perspectives on timeless classics.
