Beyond the Veil is a gathering for seekers, explorers, and questioners—those called to investigate the edges of consciousness and the symbolic patterns that pulse beneath our daily lives.

Our Vision:
To create a shared space for awakening the collective consciousness—moving beyond the illusion of separation—through deep connection, honest communication, and experiential learning that continues on after the event, forming a community of like minded, curious individuals.

Our Mission:
To gather like-minded seekers and facilitators in a safe, creative, and meaningful container that supports exploration of self, reality, and the symbolic realms—through workshops, presentations, music, storytelling, and ceremony.

Our Purpose:

Education, risk minimisation and community building within the Earth Based Medicine Community of Aotearoa.

Over two days, we’ll explore themes of altered states, non-ordinary reality, inner archetypes, dream wisdom, and the dissolution of self.

Through talks, group discussions, experiential practices, shared meals and rituals, we’ll investigate what it means to wake up within this dream—and return with something useful.

Together we’ll delve into:

• Altered States of Consciousness – What lies beyond the “normal” mind, and how do we navigate those expanded realms safely and meaningfully?
• Dream Interpretation – What if your dreams are letters from your deeper self? Learn to decode them, honour them, and act on their wisdom.
• Unity & Separation – Explore the fundamental split: are we truly separate selves, or facets of a larger, unified field of awareness?

This is also a rare chance to connect with like-minded people, share your story, and build lasting community.

We’ll sit in circle, explore symbolism together, and rekindle the ancient human impulse to gather around the “fire”—in whatever form it takes. Whether you're new to these realms or deeply immersed, you’ll be met with curiosity, honesty, and welcome.

NOTE: This event focuses on education, experience, and integration of non-ordinary states through legal and accessible means. No controlled substances will be present or used at Beyond the Veil.

What is “normal” consciousness—and what lies just –or far– beyond it?

This provocative session explores altered states of consciousness: the mind-expanding, boundary-blurring, often ineffable experiences that emerge through dreams, breath, trance, movement, deep meditation, and other time-honoured techniques.

In this thought-provoking talk, we’ll examine:
• What we call “normal” consciousness—and what lies just (or far) beyond it
• Why humans across cultures have always sought altered states
• How these experiences can reshape our beliefs, identities, and lives
• Why intention, context, and integration matter more than method
• And what it means to bring the insights back with us

From ego dissolution to microdosing, we’ll explore how altered states can serve as allies—not for checking out, but for checking in.

Saturday afternoon: THE REALM OF LIGHT AND SHADOW

with Annie

What if we’re not just individuals—but emissaries of a greater field of consciousness, standing at the edge of the unmanifest?

In this expansive and symbol-rich session, Annie explores the dynamic between unity and differentiation—between the infinite field of light we come from and the individuated selves we temporarily inhabit. Through this lens, the world becomes a symbolic landscape, with every person, plant, and planet playing a role in a vast co-created unfolding.

We’ll explore:
• The illusion of individuality—and the deeper reality of unified consciousness
• The purpose of separation, contrast, and free will in this manifest realm
• The nature of karma fields and ancestral imprints
• Cities of Light, spirit guides, and the function of the Over Soul
• How stories, emotions, and shadow arise from deeper collective fields

In this insightful and accessible session, Jill invites you to explore your dreams as symbolic reflections of your inner life—rich in meaning, mystery, and guidance.

Whether you remember vivid dreams or rarely recall them at all, this talk will show you how to work with dream content in powerful and practical ways.

We’ll explore:

• Why dreams matter—and what makes them more than just “night stories”
• How to approach dream images as messages, metaphors, and maps
• What neuroscience and depth psychology reveal about dream states
• How speaking your dreams out loud shifts your relationship to them
• Why sharing your dreams with a sacred witness can be healing in itself

Jill brings her passion and deep experience as a dreamwork guide to help you connect with the messages your sleeping self already knows—and wants you to remember.

Andrew is a lifelong explorer of consciousness with over four decades of personal and transpersonal inquiry. His fascination with altered states began in adolescence, stumbling intuitively into meditation and breathwork practices that opened the door to deeper inner work.

His path has included:

• Breathwork and meditation

• Hemispheric synchronisation

• Ashram retreats and contemplative study

• Immersion in natural environments

• Rosicrucian and symbolic traditions

• Practical work with medicinal plants and traditional herbal preparations

• Crafting and delivering guided visualisations

• Respectful exploration of ancestral techniques for shifting perception

Andrew has also completed postgraduate university study in Medicinal Cannabis, complementing his practical and experiential approach with scientific and therapeutic frameworks.

He brings humility, steadiness, and care to the spaces he holds, supporting others as they navigate expanded states and inner transformation. His work is grounded in a lifelong commitment to self-inquiry, integration, and conscious growth.

Dr Annie Southern

PhD, Health Science | Facilitator | Lived Experience Leader | Researcher | Spirituality & Wellbeing Advocate

Dr Annie Southern is a skilled facilitator, educator, and lived experience leader who weaves together spiritual, psychological, and collective wisdom in her approach to healing and transformation. With a PhD in Health Science and a strong background in trauma-informed practice, peer support, and community development, Annie brings a deep presence and grounded compassion to the spaces she holds.

Annie’s workshops draw on her personal and professional journey with mental health, neurodiversity, and spiritual emergence. She creates safe, inclusive environments for exploring soul consciousness, meaning-making, inner multiplicity, and the sacred dimensions of wellbeing. Her facilitation is rooted in both academic insight and intuitive, embodied knowing, often incorporating reflective practice, storytelling, ritual, and deep listening.

She is committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the spiritual sovereignty of all peoples, and she brings a decolonising, relational lens to all her work. Annie has facilitated groups across Aotearoa in educational, clinical, community, and spiritual settings, and is dedicated to supporting people to reconnect with their inner wisdom, wholeness, and sacred self.

Jill Natalia – Holistic Counselor | Dream Interpreter | Circle Keeper | Facilitator Trainer

Jill is a Holistic Counselor and Assisted Therapist based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. She is the founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia, as well as a Business Mentor with Conscious Consulting NZ and a Public Speaking Coach. Her work weaves together deep listening, sacred space-holding, and visionary leadership to support personal and collective transformation.

A community-focused change-maker, Jill has dedicated the past 12 years to initiating and nurturing women’s circles, retreats, and non-profit organisations across Australia and Aotearoa training over 120 leaders.

She believes in the power of community to heal, restore, and ripple out across generations—and she has witnessed countless miracles emerge from the simple act of gathering in circle.

Jill is a vivid lifelong dreamer with the gift of recalling dreams as early as age five. Dream interpretation has been a constant companion on her spiritual path. Over the years, she has studied symbolic language and archetypal psychology to refine her natural ability to decode the deeper meaning of dreams. Her interpretations offer profound insight, often unlocking hidden messages from the subconscious that illuminate the dreamer’s inner world.
