What does connection look like without words?
Join us for an afternoon of short talks, creative movement, and artistic engagement to explore connection and communication beyond words - in the context of dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

4-5 pm: Mingling and refreshments [In-person only]
Dr Naila Kuhlmann, neuroscientist and founder of the Piece of Mind Collective, will share how science, lived experience, and the arts can come together. She will also present excerpts from performances created with people with lived experience, scientists, and artists.
Dr Erica Rose Jeffrey, director of Dance for Parkinson's Australia, will lead simple, accessible movement activities exploring connection and relationship-building.
Dr Ruth Brookman, clinical psychologist and research fellow at the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development at Western Sydney University, will discuss the psychology of connection, sharing her work on attuned communication in dementia care.
Creative movement will be guided throughout the session. You will be invited to participate in whatever way feels good for you - sit, stand, or simply observe.

This is a hybrid event. For those who would like to join us online, a Zoom link will be provided upon registration.
