    Event description

The Year 7 and 8 Drama Production presents a night of nostalgia with the renowned tale of Charlotte’s Web, by E.B. White. Adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette, Charlotte’s Web is an enduring classic that shows the value of friendship and loyalty in the most heart-warming ways.

Meet Wilbur. From the moment the piglet was born, she was the underdog fighting for her life. As a runt, she was never meant to make it past her first day; however, farmer’s daughter Fern Zuckerman believes in Wilbur and convinces her father to let her stay for a little while. The charming Wilbur soon wins over the hearts of the animals on the Zuckerman farm … but unfortunately a pig’s life is either freedom or the frying pan (as our naïve hero soon finds out!) With Wilbur distraught about her seemingly inevitable fate, her devoted friend—the barnyard spider, Charlotte—shows the world that this piggy is the most humble, radiant, and terrific animal on the planet.

On 19 and 20 August, at the rooster’s crow, the Gehrmann Theatre will be home to the Zuckerman’s farm.

Cheer for our hero, Wilbur, as she navigates life, friendships, and desperately tries to avoid the butcher’s block! Remember to bring tissues, for we know how this story ends.
