Speaker Profiles

Peter Dutton

Peter Dutton served as Australia’s Leader of the Opposition from 2022 to 2025 and held senior Ministerial roles in the Howard, Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison governments.

Over his two decades in Parliament, he led some of the most complex and sensitive portfolios, including Health, Immigration, Home Affairs and Defence, where he drove major reforms and took a firm stand on border protection, national security and military readiness.

As the inaugural Minister for Home Affairs, he oversaw agencies including the AFP, ASIO and Border Force, and led Operation Sovereign Borders. He served for six consecutive years on the National Security Committee of Cabinet and played a central role in strengthening Australia’s security and intelligence frameworks.

As Minister for Defence, he delivered record investments in military capability, secured key alliances, and ensured Australia’s service personnel had the tools they need to defend the nation.

Earlier in his career, he served as Minister for Health, where he established the $20 billion Medical Research Future Fund — the largest investment of its kind in Australia’s history.

Peter was first elected to Parliament in 2001 and became one of the youngest Ministers since Federation when appointed by Prime Minister John Howard in 2004.

Before entering politics, he served for nearly a decade as a Queensland Police Officer, working in the Drug Squad, Sex Offenders Squad and National Crime Authority with a focus on protecting women and children. He also ran a small family business that grew to employ 40 Australians.

Peter remains passionate about strengthening Australia’s values, institutions and national interests. He lives in Dayboro with his wife Kirilly and their three children, Rebecca, Harry and Tom.

Chris Titley '98

Chris Titley is a prominent content contributor within the technology sector in Australia, having produced over 400 podcast and video interviews.

He is the creator and host of the Scoreboard , a podcast which explores mindset, money, and life transitions of athletes during and after their sporting careers.

With more than 20 years of experience in public equities across Australia and London, Chris worked predominantly at Morgans as a stockbroker specialising in the emerging technology sector. In 2022, he established Sub11, providing investor engagement and consulting services to startups and ASX-listed companies.

Chris also serves on the Board of the Bryan Family Foundation, a private philanthropic fund that contributes more than $2.5 million annually to educational projects in Queensland.
