‘The Brisbane Games and Beyond: The blueprint for Olympic success and the opportunities for South-East Queensland’

Following the change in the Queensland Government in late 2024, the strategy and direction of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics looks set to adjust.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has committed to a comprehensive 100-day infrastructure review to determine the critical projects required to support the Games’ success and South-East Queensland’s long-term economic future.

Venues, transport options, Olympic villages and more will be required to support the Games. As to how those requirements are best delivered is the question on the minds of South-East Queenslanders.

Will the Gabba be redeveloped to host the opening ceremony and other key events?

Will Victoria Park be developed to serve as the Games’ main venue and provide a world-class sporting precinct for Brisbane going forward?

What infrastructure projects will be required to facilitate the Games?  And how will South-East Queensland capitalise on those projects to aid its economic growth?

The Brisbane Grammar School Old Boys’ Association welcomes you to its first BGS Community Business Breakfast of 2025: The Brisbane Games and Beyond

Our expert panel of Paul Spiro '76 (Brisbane Economic Development Agency), Lachlan Dyson (City of Brisbane Investment Corporation) and MC Chris Titley '98 will unpack the path forward to deliver a successful 2032 Olympic Games and discuss how South-East Queensland can capitalise on such opportunity.
