Bibra Lake Turtle Spotter Training
Description
The Turtle Spotter Training sessions will introduce community members to the basics of turtle identification, nesting behaviour and simple conservation actions, providing an accessible pathway for people who want to help but cannot commit to full Turtle Tracker duties. Participants will learn how to use TurtleSAT to log sightings, record nesting activity and contribute valuable data to the statewide Save Our Snake Necked Turtle program.
This training emphasised that everyone can be a Turtle Spotter - especially if you actively use Bibra Lake, offering practical guidance on what to look for around Bibra Lake, how to safely report turtles on roads or paths, and how everyday observations support broader conservation outcomes. These sessions will successfully equip community spotters with the confidence and tools to participate in grassroots turtle protection throughout the nesting season.
Training Dates
Choose one of the following sessions:
Saturday, 5 September from 2:00pm - 3:00 pm
Sunday, 6 September from 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Sunday, 13 September from 2.30pm - 3:30pm
Saturday, 19 September from 10.30am - 11:30am
