Event description

This event has a specific focus on men’s mental health, but all are welcome. Art of the Minds is proud to present the second annual BBB with special guest Glenn Manton, accomplished AFL player for Essendon and Carlton, to help us shine a light on mental illness from a male perspective.

Why do we need to have this conversation?
8.6 Australians die every day by suicide. That's more than double the road toll (ABS, 2022). 75% of those who take their own lives are male (ABS, 2022). An unknown number of Australians attempt suicide every year, with some estimates suggesting this figure may be over 65,000 (Slade et al, 2009).

Join the conversation!
Get your tickets now and get ready for a morning filled with stories of lived experience from courageous and creative individuals, sharing the vulnerabilities of men in finding their strengths in Recovery. Learn about where to reach for help and how we can support men’s mental health.

Hosted by Wes Cusworth, join us to hear from an amazing lineup of speakers including:
• Glenn Manton - Former AFL player for Carlton and Essendon. He is a youth advocate, mentor, author, and media personality. He believes raw conversation builds connection and empowerment - this is his passion.
• Kristy Steenhuis - Standby Support After Suicide National service
• Rob Lytzki - Founder of Foundation 61 18 bed facility for men with life-controlling issues
• Jules Haddock - President of Art of The Minds, and Principal Master Mental Health Instructor
