Got a business idea but not sure where to start?
The Big Ideas Day is a hands-on, one-day workshop designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their ideas into opportunities.
Through a facilitated 7-hour program, participants develop skills in:
Business ideation
Opportunity identification
Entrepreneurial thinking
Problem-solving and innovation
Using the proven Opportunity Analysis Canvas, participants will test and strengthen their business idea by exploring market opportunities, validating their concept, and understanding the investment of time, money, and resources needed to move forward.
By the end of the day, every participant leaves with:
A completed Opportunity Analysis Canvas
Practical frameworks and business tools
Greater confidence to take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey
Pathways to ongoing mentoring and support
Important
This training is targeted for Wyndham-based businesses and there are only 30 spots available.
In the case of overcapacity, we reserve the right to select most suitable participants for this workshop.
Facilitators - Lynda Ford OAM and Frank Wyatt from iGen Foundation
Lynda Ford OAM is an entrepreneurship program designer, facilitator and mentor with more than fifteen years experience helping people turn ideas into viable businesses. Frank Wyatt has designed and delivered entrepreneurship programs for local governments for more than 30 years.
Together, they have designed and delivered Big Ideas Days, Business Builder workshops, pre-accelerators, accelerators, incubators, business coaching and mentoring programs for Australians from all walks of life. Over the years they have facilitated more than 1,000 online and in-person startup and business growth workshops.
In addition, they have led 73 youth- and migrant-focused program cohorts involving more than 3,000 Australians from more than 80 countries, supported by 6,300 hours of personalised mentoring.
Lynda and Frank bring a unique intercultural approach to entrepreneurship. They create and conduct programs where people from different cultural backgrounds, generations and life experiences learn with and from one another, build trusted networks, new markets and develop pathways into self-employment and business ownership.
Established in 2015, iGen Foundation is a registered Australian charity that empowers people from diverse backgrounds to create social and economic opportunities through entrepreneurship.

- Who is the Big Ideas Day for?
The workshop is for anyone with a business idea who is unsure where to begin. It is suitable for aspiring entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, industries and levels of experience.
- How developed does my business idea need to be?
Your idea can be at a very early stage. You do not need a business plan or a fully developed concept. The workshop will help you explore, test and strengthen your idea.Canvas, practical business tools, greater clarity and confidence, and a clearer understanding of your next steps. You will also learn about pathways to further mentoring and business support.
- Do I need previous business experience or an ABN?
No. You do not need previous business experience, an existing business or an ABN. The workshop is designed to help you understand what may be involved before starting a business.
- What will we do during the workshop?
You will work through a practical Opportunity Analysis Canvas to explore your idea, identify potential customers and market opportunities, test whether the concept is viable and consider the time, money and resources required.
