Big Questions Little Hearts: How to Talk about Death with Our Children
Event description
Lauren Clarke & Rani Foreman are honoured to present a special community workshop designed for parents and caregivers who want to feel more confident when answering life's big questions from little ones.
Conversations about death can catch us off guard, leaving us searching for answers we may not even have ourselves. At times, the delicate task of explaining death comes about because of sad circumstances unfolding around our children. Recognising that life has a beginning, a middle, and an end, we've thoughtfully created this workshop to offer practical support for these tender conversations concerning life’s end with our young children.Â
Grounded in Developmental Psychology, the workshop explores children’s understanding of death while also addressing your own feelings about mortality. You’ll be offered practical strategies, easy-to-replicate activities, take-home resources and follow-up support.Â
Rather than avoiding or winging these conversations, this workshop will leave you feeling informed and empowered to respond confidently. Most importantly, it nurtures authentic, safe, and truthful exchanges with the children in your life.
The in-person workshop cost of $60.00 includes take-home resources, tea/coffee, on-site nanny service (see below) & follow-up Zoom call in 7-10 days post-workshop.Â
NOTE: This workshop is for parents and caregivers - not for children; however, our BRUNSWICK event will include an on-site nanny service included in the ticket price for any children who need to attend. Please advise us if your children are coming with you so we can organise suitable services for the duration of the workshop.
This workshop will be held on Saturday, 8th February, 10am – 12pm in Brunswick Heads (residential address provided upon booking). Spaces are limited.
For more information, please contact Lauren Clarke on 0401 578 412 or Rani Foreman on 0473 452 533 or reach out via bigquestionslittlehearts@outlook.com
Note: Our priority is to make this workshop a safe space for those who need it most. While we aim to cover venue, resources, and other costs, we don't want financial hardship to be a barrier. If you or someone you know could benefit from attending but can't afford a ticket, please reach out to Lauren or Rani.
