Big Sanctuary Information Fair
Event description
Queen's University Belfast is delighted to be hosting this free Information Fair as part of Refugee Week, on Wednesday, 18 June 2025 in the Whitla Hall.
Please call in at any time from 2.00pm. The event will close at 7.00pm, so please arrive with enough time to talk to the stallholders!
This event has been organised by the University's Civic Engagement team in partnership with the Consular Corps of Northern Ireland, Advice NI and the NI Housing Executive. All are welcome, particularly those from migrant and minority ethnic communities, including those who have sought or are seeking asylum here.
Join us to hear from our fantastic range of stallholders, including experts from the fields of:
General Advice Services; Education; Employment support; Health care; Housing; Immigration; and Policing and Community Safety (see below for details).
Refreshments will be provided.
The venue is wheelchair accessible; Arabic, British Sign Language (BSL) and Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreters will be available on the day.
Should you require interpretation in any other language please contact Maurice Macartney, m.macartney@qub.ac.uk and we will do our best to provide it.
Big Sanctuary Information Fair

We are delighted to announce that Queen’s University Belfast, the Consular Corps of Northern Ireland, Advice NI and the NI Housing Executive have organised the Big Sanctuary Information Fair.
The event will take place in the Whitla Hall on Wednesday 18th June 2025 (during Refugee Week), from 2pm to 7pm.
The Fair will feature over 30 stallholders offering advice and support in areas such as education, health, safety, housing, employment and immigration. There will also be one-to-one clinics designed to resolve some issues on the spot.
Many statutory, community, voluntary, and charitable organisations, including key regional and national bodies, will be attending. A full list of the stall holders can be found below.
