Big String Day with Resonance String Orchestra

Big String Day 2026, organised by Resonance String Orchestra and supported by the Castlemaine State Festival is an immersive string music event led by engaging and hugely experienced string teachers, Emma Wade and Sarina Walter, with tutoring by Resonance String Orchestra's core team, including Co-Artistic Director, Heather Cummins.
All young string students are welcome, from established beginners to G2 AMEB. There'll be instrument based tutorials, easy-peasy parts, fun times, new friends, morning tea, whole orchestra sessions and a short performance for families and friends at the end.

When you buy your ticket to take part you'll be asked what instrument you play and your standard, or how long you've been playing. We use this info so we can email the right music parts to you. You can then take the music to your teacher and practise at home before you come to BIG STRING DAY!
