Join grant writer Olivia Everitt for a three-hour Grant Writing for the Arts workshop (beginner-intermediate level). This workshop explores the nuts and bolts of writing successful grant applications.

This workshop is suitable for individual artists (of any discipline), arts organisations or collectives, heritage groups, festival organisers, event managers and arts workers seeking funding for their creative practice, organisation or project.

Topics covered during this session include, but are not limited to:

  • Overview of government, corporate and philanthropic funding relevant to the arts and cultural sector
  • Overview of grant terminology and where to find relevant grants
  • Project planning (e.g. timelines, community engagement, risk management and more)
  • Budgets (e.g. artist fees, travel allowances and contingencies)
  • Auspicing, partnerships and support materials such as letters of support
  • Useful templates and sourcing data and research relevant to your project


About the Facilitator:

Olivia Everitt is a grant writer, project coordinator, workshop facilitator and arts consultant with over 14 years’ experience working across the arts, economic development and not-for-profit sectors. Currently based on Gubbi Gubbi country in Gympie, Olivia is passionate about working with individuals and organisations to support impactful arts and economic development outcomes for communities across Australia.

Olivia regularly delivers grant writing and other professional development workshops for artists and community groups across Queensland, and has assisted a diverse range of clients to attract over $8.4 million in grant funding and sponsorship since 2017. Olivia has been a national grants peer assessor with both Creative Australia and Regional Arts Australia and holds a Master of Business (Arts and Cultural Management) from Deakin University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from the Queensland University of Technology.
