Bike Disco! `Waterview to Ōwairaka

Join us for an activity and music filled bike ride followed by a disco! We’ll ride the shared pathways from the Waterview to Ōwairaka Connected Communities Hub in Murray Halberg Park, where there will be more music, hot drinks and kai available. Your most glittery outfits encouraged! Families are very welcome - independent riding age recommended 9 years +. 

 All ages are welcome for this guided circuit of our 'hood, celebrating our amazing cycling infrastructure and great community.

Where do we meet?

NEW LOCATION: We will gather in the park on the Oakley Creek Esplanade Reserve, 1508 Great North Rd, the west side of the Te Piringa cycle bridge. If you arrive by car then there is parking in nearby streets such as Oakley Avenue or Alford Street.

We’ll gather there at 4pm and once we have enough riders we’ll head off.

This is an event organised by Bike Ōwairaka,  Common Folk Community Development, Ōwairaka Connected Communities Hub, Albert-Eden Climate Action Network, with funding from Kāinga Ora and Albert-Eden Local Board.

Rules

1. Enjoy yourselves!

2. Follow road rules

3. No alcohol please! (kid-friendly, and none allowed at the Hub).

4. Keep left on paths; and always keep between the ride marshall guide cyclists - they’re there to keep the group together.

5. Watch for cars at driveways!

Food Available!

There will be hot drinks, slices, cookies, and hot dogs to purchase at the hub - cash or bank transfer accepted, please come support our local young entrepeneurs Liberty and Ina. Vegetarian and vegan options available!
