Event description
Get geared up this Biketober by learning everything about bicycle maintenance and repair!
Join Cycle Crafters over three sessions where they will run you through the knowledge and skills important for bike ownership.
Session 1 from 11am-12pm: Assessing/inspecting a bike (Introduction to bike terminology, tool use and basic safety checks at home)
Session 2 from 12.30pm-1.30pm: Cleaning, lubrication, installing/removing inner cables
Session 3 from 2-3pm: Adjusting brakes for safety
Green Impact participants can complete FOUR toolkit actions by attending:
- UOM057/UOM-I28: Be an active transport champion by walking, cycling or taking public transport and sharing helpful resources like Unimelb's cycling page.
- UOM062/UOM-I66: Participate in the Biketober challenge 2024.
- U0M069/UOM-I03: Attend an event run by the Sustainability team.
- UOM003/UOM-I01: Post a picture from today’s event to introduce your Green Impact team. If you are posting on social media, make sure to tag @sustainablecampus and @greenimpactaunz to encourage more people to join the changemaker community!
