Description

Join this practical bike riding skills session for adults who can already ride but would like to feel more confident riding on the road.

Perhaps you've recently done our Bike Skills Refresh session, or you're happy riding on shared paths but not as confident riding on the road? Or maybe its been a while and you just want to refresh your skills and awareness?

We'll practice the skills needed to safely ride on roads in a traffic free environment for the first part of the day, including;

-head checks,

-signalling,

-merging

as well as learn the theory and practice strategies for managing scenarios like

-roundabouts,

-right turns in traffic,

-being visible on the road

-and communication with drivers.

With a break for lunch (BYO picnic lunch) in the middle of the day you'll have plenty of time to digest everything you've learned, and make some new friends.

After lunch we will ride on local roads with plenty of time to put the skills and strategies we've learnt into practice with the support of instructors.

You may choose to enrol for only the first part of the day.

This course is commissioned by City of Stonnington and delivered by the professionals from Bike it Better.

Fee: This is a FREE workshop
