Binalong Clothes Swap
Event description
In Australia, over 200,000 tonnes of clothing goes landfill each year. And we’re the second biggest consumer of fashion and textiles in the world per capita! We’re supporting the end of fashion waste (and getting a wardrobe refresh without the hefty price tag) by swapping clothes. So join us for a delightful evening of fashion, fun and networking.
When: Tuesday 3rd October
Time: 6pm - 8pm
Arrive: 6pm to check in your swap items.
Swapping will begin promptly at 6:30pm.
Location: Binalong Mechanics Institute
Tickets: $10 donation to the CWA (please bring cash)
HOW THE SWAP WORKS
1. Bring 1 to 10 (maximum) items of clothing or accessories to add to the swap collection pool.
2. Clothing is checked in, then sort onto racks and tables by our team. While you are waiting light refreshments will be served.
3. Guests can only begin taking and trying on swap items only after the swap is officially declared open by the host at 6:30pm. This will take place after the brief welcome at the beginning.
SWAP GUIDELINES
● Clothes brought to the swap MUST be clean, good quality and in good condition: not worn out, faded, pillaged, pongy or damaged. And if possible, items should be hung, folded or pressed.(Good quality also means something you would gift to a friend). Please be mindful and considerate of what other swappers will be happy to receive.
● We can’t guarantee guests will find their sizes as it depends on what other guests bring; Regardless, accessories are included in the pool, so there will be something for everyone. Therefore, we encourage ALL SIZES to participate in the swap.
● Items to bring: pants, skirts, tops, jumpers, coats, jumpsuits, shirts, shoes, bags, shorts, scarves, hats, dresses, sunglasses, jewellery.
● WHAT NOT TO BRING: we will not accept underwear, swimwear, overused pyjamas or overused workout gear. PLEASE NOTE THAT ITEMS THAT DO NOT MEET THIS CRITERIA CANNOT BE ACCEPTED INTO THE SWAP. THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
