Binna Burra Hiking Retreat - August 2021

Join us for another amazing weekend exploring the beauty of Lamington National Park and Binna Burra Rainforest Lodge!
Leaving on Friday morning and returning Sunday afternoon, we’ll be visiting a bunch of the local sights, scenic viewpoints, and beautiful hikes, including the renowned Coomera Circuit Walk and its array of spectacular waterfalls! Plus, there'll be plenty of time to relax by the fire, connect with others and enjoy the amazing sunset views over the national park.
What's Included:
- Accommodation: Safari Tents - There are 3 Compact Safari Tents that sleep 2 people and will probably be for any couples that attend (first in, best dressed!), and 4 Family Tents - these have 2 double beds and 2 single beds and will be shared by 4 people.
- Meals (Dinner on Friday, and Breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday). Dinner on Saturday night will be at the Lamington Tea House.
- Hikes & Activities
Itinerary:
DAY ONE - Friday 20th August
8am – Leave Sunshine Coast. Meet at Rosin’s Lookout in Beechmont by 10:30am. BYO Lunch/Snacks or there is also a café here where you can purchase some food/coffee.
1pm – Arrive in Binna Burra. Set up in the safari tents. Explore the grounds. Chill out at the Grooms Cottage.
3:30pm – Sunset walk and moonrise at Yangahla Lookout
6pm – Dinner and campfire
DAY TWO
6:30am - Breakfast
8:30am - Coomera Circuit Hike (18km, approximately 7 hours). This hike is quite long and there is a bunch of creek crossings so a relatively good fitness level is required. It is also one of the most beautiful hikes you will ever visit, passing about 15 stunning waterfalls along the way.
4pm approx. – Arrive back to camp and relax.

DAY THREE
6:15am – OPTIONAL sunrise hike to lookout
7-7:30am - Breakfast
9:30am – Leave Binna Burra. Stop at Kweebani Cave walk and Cedar Creek Falls.
12:30pm – Final lunch at the famous Yatala Pies
4pm approx. – Arrive back to Sunny Coast
WHAT TO BRING
- BYO Linen. This is also available for hire from the reception if needed. Bring sheets, pillows, and blanket or just a warm sleeping bag. Nights will get cold on the mountain in August.
- Comfortable gear for hiking. Runners should be fine but make sure you have shoes with fairly decent grip as we cross over lots of creeks and slippery rocks.
- Snacks/lunch things for the hike on Saturday
- Travel first aid kit if you have one
- Towel and swimmers
- Rain jacket
- Sunscreen, hat, sunnies etc.
- 2-3L of water carrying capacity for the big hike
Price = $249 (if booked before 10th July) or $279 after 10th July.

By signing up and attending this event with The Kindness Collective, you and your guests or minors (if applicable) accept the risks inherent in hiking and assume all risks associated with such participation, including travel to and from the event. You agree to be responsible for your own safety and equipment; and realize that outdoor conditions, obstacles, and weather, are always changing. You and your successors agree to hold all Organizers and other TKC members harmless in the event of equipment loss or damage, injury or death.
