Where: The Burgoyne Valley Community Farm- 2232 Fulford- Ganges Rd, near the Gazebo

Details: Come to the Farmland Trust's community biochar burn and learn from the island's leading biochar expert Brian Smallshaw.

This burn relies on having material available to burn, so If you have tree pruning's, windfalls, or other woody branches please let us know so we can make this event a success. Participants will get to take-home biochar at the end of the event.

If you would like to drop off material before hand, please contact Shannon at sfarmer@ssifarmlandtrust.org in advance and please note that material needs to be 3 inches in diameter or less, and no longer than 4 ft, so it can fit in the metal kiln.

What to bring: water, some snacks, and even a little saw or pruners if you would like to take part in prepping materials.
