Biodiversity Blitz

Take part in a Biodiversity Audit of Kariong Eco Garden and Nature Play area in the bushland behind the garden.

We will be joined by Paul Madden, Landcare Co-ordinator, Community Environment Network; Kaye Pointer and Margaret Pointer, local bird nerds! Kaye was one of the founding members of the Central Coast branch of Birding NSW. She is involved with education, conservation, bird surveys including workshops and guided bird outings and presentations. How lucky are we?!

What insects can we find? What can we find living in the ponds? What native plants are growing here? How many different birds can we observe in 20 minutes (10.30am - 10.50am) Check out our new possum nest boxes and decide which tree shall we put them up on.

These mega-diverse countries cover less than 10% of the world’s area but have more than 70% of its biodiversity.

Many of our plants, animals and places are unique and are not found anywhere else in the world.
