Biodiversity in miniature
Event description
Celebrate biodiversity with Napoleon Reef Landcare and Central Tablelands Local Land Services through a hands-on day exploring the lovely Napoleon Reef Reserve.
Event details:
Join Napoleon Reef Landcare, supported by Central Tablelands Local Land Services, as we explore the Napoleon Reef Reserve and share local knowledge and ideas on biodiversity while we walk through endemic remnant bush sites.
You'll be participating in:
Australia’s shortest bush walk - we will begin the day by following a track, identifying some particular native plants, and recording observations.
Native vegetation assessments - in the reserve, we will all undertake our own Native Vegetation Assessment and miniature flora surveys to determine the health and condition of the local native vegetation and habitat.
Seed bombs - in the spirit of promoting habitat regeneration and biodiversity, we will be making some “seed bombs”. These will be used to revegetate a deeply eroded area of a local creek.
Please RSVP by Thursday, 16 October 2025, to confirm your attendance.
Additional details: Lunch will be provided. Places are limited.
What to bring: enclosed shoes, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, towel, clipboard/pencil, and hand cleaner.
