Biodynamic Agriculture – Working toward Climate Change Solutions.

Sustainable practices for economic, social and wellbeing benefits.

The event will be in 5 parts.

1. Ueli Hurter, see bio below, will open the afternoon with a talk on Biodynamics (BD) which may include:

- How BD can help with the challenges we face now and in the future

- Contrasting conventional, organic, and biodynamic farming method and outcomes

- Healing and regenerative aspects of BD principles and practices

- BD Farming in dry regions like Sekem in Egypt

2. BD practioners will be invited to talk about their experiences in working with BD

3. Farm walk to view the vineyard, vegetable fields, Highland cattle, sheep, chickens, olive trees and extensive revegetation areas led by Erinn Klein, Ngeringa co-founder.

4. Ueli Hurter will talk again and may cover:

- The dynamic interface of BD, permaculture and regenerative agriculture

- Making nutrient dense food affordable

- Making BD farming affordable

- Cost of living issues demand creative solution focused strategies and practices

- Social aspects BD work

5. Social event with food and wine tastings to finish

Bio

Ueli Hurter is the head of the Biodynamic Agriculture Faculty at the Goetheanum in Switzerland. He is a board member of the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International (BFDI). He is also on the board of Weleda AG, a leading biodynamic skincare and naturopathic medicine company.

He runs a certified biodynamic farm, Ferme de L'Aubier, in Switzerland which started as a dairy farm but has now diversified into cheese making, an eco-hotel, a restaurant and more. L'Aubier is an associatively organized corporation with direct financing.

Ueli Hurter lives near Neuchâtel in Switzerland with his wife and three children.
