Biodynamic Composting ~ with Heidi Halter
Event description
Biodynamics is an holistic, ecological, and ethical approach to farming and gardening. Its esoteric concepts integrate scientific understanding with recognition of the spirit in nature.
Biodynamic practices have the capacity to transform soil, plant & animal life; renewing and revitalising the earth and all who call it home.
In this hands-on workshop you will learn the secrets of a living compost and how its powerful restorative forces will work in your garden providing transformation and vitality.
As we construct a compost heap with easy to source materials, you will be introduced to the essential compost BD preparations; each with their own special task.
You will learn how to maintain the health of the compost pile and how to know when a biodynamic compost is ready.
Bookings close: 11 June 2022
Heidi Halter brings to this practical workshop a great passion for and wide range of experiences from the biodynamic world. After studying organic farming in NSW she became interested in biodynamics and travelled to Switzerland where she completed an introduction to Anthroposophy at the Goetheanum. While she was there, Heidi became involved in the Agricultural Section. Through this involvement, she participated in a number of annual agricultural conferences and trained ‘on the ground’ as she completed a year-long biodynamics course for local farmers who were already steeped in biodynamic experiences and lifestyle.
