Event description

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) often results in numerous neurological disfunctions, including chronic paralysis, paresthesia, and autonomic dysfunction. The therapies currently available to individuals with a SCI can only amend the symptoms and complications that may arise from the injury.

Fortunately, recent neuromodulation therapies for individuals with SCI have shown successful improvement to a change of bodily function. This talk will describe the current status of spinal cord neuromodulation therapies, as well as transcutaneous electrical stimulation, a non-invasive neuromodulation therapy for SCI, showcasing the rehabilitative and assistive tools that can be used to improve the quality of life of these individuals
