Event Description:

 Join us for a weekend of stewardship and community at Birch Creek Historic Ranch! This campout and stewardship event will focus on a general cleanup of the area, campground work with hand tools, and potentially some focused tasks in collaboration with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Friends of the Owyhee (FOTO).

We’ll spend our days working together to improve and maintain the landscape while enjoying the natural beauty of Birch Creek Historic Ranch. Camping will be provided, and we will have a group meal plan, but please bring your own snacks, and any additional food or beverages you'd like.

Goals for the Event:

  • General cleanup around Birch Creek Historic Ranch

  • Campground maintenance and improvements using hand tools

  • Focused conservation tasks in partnership with the BLM and FOTO

What to Bring:

  • Camping Gear: Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and personal camping equipment (Please bring your own gear, as camping will be outdoors).

  • Food and Water: Attendees are responsible for their own meals for the weekend. We will have a group meal plan, but please bring your own snacks, and any additional food or beverages you'd like. Make sure to pack enough water for the weekend.

  • Clothing: Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing for outdoor work (layering is recommended) and sturdy, closed-toed shoes or boots suitable for work and hiking.

  • Fishing Gear: There will be time to explore the area and fish in the beautiful Owyhee River waters during downtime, so feel free to bring your fishing gear if you’re interested.

  • Personal Items: Sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, personal hygiene items, and any medications you may need.

  • Travel: You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the event. Directions to the site will be shared after RSVP.

What We Provide:

  • Work Gloves: We’ll supply gloves for the stewardship work.

  • Tools: We will provide all the necessary tools for campground work and cleanup tasks.

     This event is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment, connect with other conservation-minded individuals, and spend a weekend in the Owyhee region. Whether you’re experienced with stewardship or a first-timer, all are welcome!

    There will also be free time to explore the area, enjoy nature, and fish in the beautiful Owyhee River waters. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to contribute to conservation efforts while having fun outdoors!
