Birds are all around us. We hear their calls, see them moving through the trees and often recognise a familiar bird without knowing much about it.

The more closely we look, the more there is to notice.

Join Nature Play SA for a series of Bird Appreciation Walks in Belair National Park throughout Spring.

We’ll walk beneath the trees, looking and listening for birds, hearing stories about their lives and behaviours, and learning to identify some of the birds we encounter along the way.

The walks offer a chance to spend time with birds, learn more about them and connect with others who share an interest in the natural world.

During this walk, we’ll also take part in the Aussie Bird Count, recording the birds we spot together.

Who is this for?

Anyone who is interested in birds. You might already enjoy birdwatching, or you might simply want to learn more about the birds around you. All ages welcome.

Do I need birdwatching experience?

No. You don’t need to know the names of birds or have used binoculars before. We’ll explore together and share some simple ways to notice and recognise the birds we find.
