Bird Sensing for Kids and their Adults
Event description
‘Come and have fun bird sensing with us. Birds are incredible creatures that have a lot to say without saying anything, although they can be pretty noisy at times too!’
Join ecological practitioner and committed birdo Phil Barron for this bird ‘sensing’ walk at Sandy Creek Conservation Park. Phil takes bird watching to the next level, pointing out that our powers of observation go way beyond sight; hearing is just as important if not more so. Kids and their adults will have fun exploring nature, and will learn some basic monitoring and observation skills that will help them identify their local birds and inspire them to care for bird habitat at home and in the wider world. Phil will also provide info about new apps and technologies that can enhance the birding experience.
