Whether you're a keen birdwatcher, curious neighbour, or looking for a fun school holiday activity with the kids, come and explore the nature right in your backyard.

What to Expect:

Birdwatching & Bird ID: Grab a pair of binoculars and a bird ID chart and discover the winged neighbours living in your neighbourhood.

Special Guest : Meet Alessandro Madonna, Senior Ranger for the nearby Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary, to learn about the vital role Riverlea plays in supporting shorebirds.

iNaturalist App: Learn how to turn your smart device into a citizen-science tool to identify plants and wildlife on your everyday walks.

Family & Kids Activities: Self-guided nature scavenger hunt and a hands-on craft activity run by the City of Playford Team will be available for families.

Community & Connection: Enjoy a relaxed morning outdoors, meet fellow Riverlea residents, and celebrate the green spaces making our community unique.

Good to know:

The event is outdoors, so dress for the weather - bring sun protection and/or rain protection. Closed shoes are also recommended. If you have your own binoculars, feel free to bring them along (we will also have pairs to share). There are no toilets on site, but you can use the Discovery Centre's facilities (5 min walk).
