Get ready for an exciting morning with renowned bird expert Dave Gibson! Start your day with a captivating one-hour lecture, “Birds, a Celebration in Words and Photos,” from 10-11am. Dave’s talk is designed to ignite your passion for birds and conservation, featuring a stunning array of bird photos and fascinating insights into the world of bird photography.

Dave will share his knowledge about nearby eBird Hotspots and offer valuable tips on using binoculars and pinpointing birds. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting out, you’ll find Dave’s guidance incredibly helpful.

About Dave Gibson:

Dave Gibson brings a wealth of experience in teaching and bird conservation. He has taught at prestigious institutions in Massachusetts, including Fisher College, MassBay Community College, and the Harvard Museums of Cultural and Natural History. In Virginia, Dave has worked with the Elizabeth River Project as a bird trip leader, teacher, educational consultant, and photographer. He has also collaborated with various other organizations.

A prolific writer and speaker, Dave has authored the birding profile for Chesapeake, VA, and contributed to the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council with his piece, “Every Bit of Wild.” His award-winning bird photography has been widely published, and he is an active contributor to eBird, where you can explore his impressive collection of photos and recordings.
