Birds of the Inman River Walk, with Bird Lover - Professor Hugh Possingham

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Hugh has one obsession - a compulsive desire to watch birds.
His passion for birdwatching grew from his hours spent as a young fella in the bush and along the Inman River Walking Trail from his parent's holiday home nearby.

Hugh is a wonderful communicator and loves sharing his passion for birds.  His 'down to earth' style is engaging for all ages.

The Inman River Trial is a 'biodiversity hotspot' for birds including the western whistler and the threatened black-chinned honeyeater.

The trail follows the River through a variety of habitat types allowing walkers to enjoy the sights and sounds of a wide range of bird species.
This bird watch and walk is suitable for all levels from beginners and bird enthusiasts alike.
Owing to the site - Binoculars &/or Cameras are a must to fully appreciate the array of bird species - many of them are small woodland birds.

While we will be following paths, be prepared to walk on some patches of uneven ground and around tripping hazards. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing including a hat, and suitable walking shoes and bring a water bottle.  This event is suitable for children 15+.

Meet at Canton Place, Victor Harbor (culdesac end) to access the Inman River Walking Trail.
