Birds of the Merri Merri

Event description

Come and join a birding walk along the merri merri with Ann and Bruce McGregor from Friends of Merri Creek. Ann and Bruce are both Life Members of Friends of Merri Creek and have been working on protecting the creek for nearly 50 years. Ann has co-ordinated the Friends of Merri Creek bird surveys since 2008, and Bruce has done post graduate studies in ornithology. Ann and Bruce are a wealth of knowledge and share it in an accessible and fun way!

For this walk we'll be leaving from our East Coburg house, wandering south to Moreland road, then north up to the Harding Street footbridge, before coming back through Egan Reserve to NECCHI.

Ann and Bruce will provide some binoculars, but please bring your own if you have them, and a notebook and pen if that's your thing! Also please wear sensible footwear and weather appropriate clothing.

Ann and Bruce McGregor helped found the Friends of Merri Creek and have been campaigning to clean it up and save it from development since the 70's. Their knowledge of birds and other non-human species of the creek is something to be cherished.
