Birds of the Night (Young Adult 18 - 25 years)
Description
Join us for the Birds of the Night event, where you'll have the chance to meet local nocturnal birds and learn about the other fascinating wildlife that calls Piney Lakes Reserve home. After a fun and informative session, we'll head out on a night walk to experience the natural wonders of the evening.
This event is for young adults aged 18 - 25 years. An additional all-ages, family friendly Birds of the Night event is running on the 14th of March.
Enclosed shoes, long pants and long sleeves recommended (protect yourself from those pesky mosquitos and prickly plants).
PLEASE BRING - a torch and insect repellent
This event is offered as a response to the City of Melville's Directions from Young People Youth Strategy which identified that our local young people feel concern over environmental issues but are unsure how to take action and that they would like to see more events targeted to their age group.

Requirements
Wearing enclosed shoes, long pants and long sleeves is recommended. Please bring weather appropriate clothing, a torch and mosquito repellent.
Type of event and expectations
Outdoor event - This event features a guided outdoor walk focused on observing live animals in their natural habitat. Participants are expected to follow the program facilitator's instructions and show respect throughout the experience. Due to the nature of the event, there will be moments where silence is required.
Accessibility
This event includes a walk on some uneven ground which may not be suitable for all walking aids.
Accessible parking is available at front of EcoHub, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email EcoHub at (08)9364 0191 or ecohub@melville.wa.gov.au

Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near EcoHub and services multiple routes.
EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub when you attend: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
