Bird Walk at the Truganina Explosives Reserve
Event description
The Truganina Explosives Reserve has an interesting assemblage of plants, which means the bird life that visit and live in this reserve are varied and interesting.
Hobsons Bay is host to hundreds of different bird species and the Explosives Reserve has a high diversity of honeyeaters, bushland birds and birds of prey.
Bronzewing pigeons (pictured) have been spotted at the reserve several times although they appear to be transient visitors. Other birds that are somewhat unusual for Hobsons Bay have been seen here including Kookaburras and Spiny-cheeked honeyeaters.
For this tour, the amazing Ryan Kilgower from BirdLife Australia will be using his extensive knowledge and expertise to lead us through this reserve. Join Ryan and the Hobsons Bay Conservation Rangers to discover some of the birds in this diverse reserve.
This tour is suitable for ages 15 years and over.
